Yes, it's very fsshionable. The hotel was built by british overclass citizen in the colonial period. The same style today, also the uniforms of the staff.
I recommend you to visit Raffles next time you are visiting Singapore, and it's a MUST to drink singapore sling and eat peanuts. And remember, throw the nutshell on the floor! It's an old custom practished by the british inhabitanse and tourists.
Hehe, I have actually heard about the fact that you are supposed to trow the shells on the floor. I´ll keep that in mind if I ever visit, which I hope I will!
